The easiest hair to work with when styling updos is quite obviously hair that is long enough to be pulled up and away from the face and neck. If it is long enough to be pulled securely in a pony tail with enough length to style the curls, it is a simple matter to style the hair the morning of the wedding. If your hair is long enough you have an infinite number of styles you can wear.
Again, depending on how busy your veil is you can style your hair accordingly. The simpler the veil, the more freedom you have in choices of style. With a simple veil you can have as many or as few curls as you like. You can use ribbons and flowers freely and you can even have a combination updo with some curls floating down the back of your neck and at the sides.
Long hair wedding updos don’t necessarily require being set or curled either. Many years ago something called a “French Curl” was fashionable. While women no longer wear French Curls for everyday styles as they once had, they are still regularly used for weddings and other formal affairs. A French Curl is styled like being set in a roller without the roller. You roll the hair around an invisible rod and then pin it securely in place and spray it well. Sometimes French Curls are worn with wisps hanging loosely down the neck and at the sides. Those tendrils are then curled with a small curling iron.
If you have long hair and you want to wear an elegant long hair wedding updo, a good place to start would be to get ideas from pictures at various sites on the internet. When you find one that you would like to wear, print the picture out and bring it to your stylist. If you can’t find styles you like online, your stylist has books you can browse through and if that fails, your local bookstore has magazines available with trendy styles. Your options are many if your hair is long.
